Amy Childs
Born in Bromley, South East London, Amy's love of performing started when she attended weekend workshops run by the prestigious Italia Conti Stage school. At college she thrived when being busy, becoming editor of the College newsletter, Joint Director of the annual Pantomime and Deputy Head girl. Deciding on a career in television ever since she can remember, Amy studied for a BA at Salford University in Media and Performance, a course that allowed her to understand the theoretical side of the media whilst develop as a performer. In her final year Amy won a competition to find a presenter for Zeitgeist, a programme commissioned by Channel M which saw her reviewing local theatre and ballet productions.
After graduating and before moving back to London, Amy achieved a presenting role in DM Digital TV's English News department hosting 'Showbiz News' and occasionally presenting the weather. Whilst back in London Amy shared her time between working on Harrods promotional Beauty team and becoming a Business Development Manager for an International translation and promotion company. But it wasn’t long before the north called her back, where she now works again at DM Digital, as a presenter and journalist. When she’s not brightening up the screen on ‘Shine’, you can watch Amy presenting 60 Second News Updates plus covering international news affairs in ‘Pakistan Today’.
